FESTIVALS

The City of Crowley is home to many festivals, such as the International Rice Festival, Carnival d' Acadie Mardi Gras Celebration and the July Fete Independence Day Celebration.

The International Rice Festival is held every October in Crowley and is one of Louisiana’s largest and oldest agricultural festivals. Since its first festival on October 5th, 1937, over 7 million people have attended the annual event. At almost anytime of the year you can find numerous festivals in the surrounding area.

Carnival d’Acadie is Crowley’s Mardi Gras Festival. A tradition of South Louisiana, Mardi Gras means “Fat Tuesday” – a day of celebration before Lent begins. From Cajun music and food to the Grand Carnival Parade and Carnival Costume Contest, this is a festival for the entire family.

July Fete is the Fourth of July Celebration that takes place on or around July 4th each year. Visitors can enjoy great food, live music and dancing, with the night ending with a spectacular light show as fireworks light the sky.

PARKS

One thing unique to the city of Crowley is the number of parks conveniently located within the 10-square mile city. The city has eight public parks which all feature sidewalks surrounding the park and newly restored tennis courts. The city also features Mobley Field Walking Track, the Recreation Complex and Historic Miller Stadium. The Recreation Complex, where the city’s recreation activities are held, is home to eight baseball fields and one football field. A unique walking trail also intertwines throughout the entire recreation complex offering beautiful views and scenery.

DINING & SHOPPING

Food — there’s nothing quite like it in Crowley. Enjoy incredible seafood dishes, spicy Cajun cuisine, great steaks, Mexican, Chinese and good home cooking in Crowley. Shopping is also a unique experience in Crowley. Visitors can walk the downtown historic district, stopping in and out of the unique gift shops and museums in the downtown area.

GOLFING

Crowley is more than great food, fishing and fun – it’s great golf. Crowley is home to Bayou Bend Golf Course, an 18- hole, semi-private course and full practice facility that is open everyday. Also in close proximity is the Cajun Pine Golf Club, located in Branch, Louisiana. In a short commute you can experience the game on championship courses throughout the area, including courses on the Audubon Golf Trail. On this trail you will find 13 courses that make up the new Audubon Golf Trail. They are exceptional courses designed by Arnold Palmer, Hal Sutton and the most magnificent designer of all, Mother Nature.

SPORTSMAN’S PARADISE

When the state's nickname happens to be "Sportsman's Paradise," there's a lot to live up to. Crowley has always lived up to the state’s reputation. Hunting season in Crowley lasts eight months out of the year and is easily accessible with our backwoods and bayous full of fowl and four-legged critters. And with one of the largest game preserves in the U.S. our state is also a natural habitat for many rare and endangered species, making Louisiana a "Bird Watcher's Paradise" as well. Crowley has nearly 20 parks conveniently located throughout the area, each carefully chosen for outstanding hiking, fishing, biking, birding and nature trails. Most feature bodies of water, campsites and picnic areas. Several have air-conditioned cabins or group camps available for rent.

GAMING

Gaming is not all about casinos in this area — with four horse racing tracks in the state, the ponies get their fair share of attention down here too.
